There are some things in the world that are truly mysterious and beautiful at the same time. People have their own different taste when it comes to fashion, others might have a thing for preppy look and there are some who likes a kind of fashion that is unique for having its own history and personality, its called gothic Fashion.

A gothic outfit is an aesthetic which grew out of the punk movement in the late 1970’s. The style reflected a need to disengage from mainstream values and ethics. Music was a huge part of the Gothic sub culture, and still is, although the music has become far more diverse since the middle of the 1990s.

Gothic clothing has changed over the years, from a punky start of Bat Cave fame, with fishnet, lace, leather and piercings being quite prevalent. Today lots to female ranging from teens to adults even in their 40s and 50s that are so into gothic fashion especially in Europe where there are lots of diverse fashion. There are also gothic designer clothes that can be seen in a fashion show with lots of celebrity guests. There are also some Ralph Lauren and Lanvin collection that can be considered slightly gothic inspired outfits.

Fashion designers for designer clothes these days like Ralph Lauren and Versace makes very stylish and let’s say sexy and cute mini skirts. The miniskirt was the first skirt to go above the knee since prehistoric man chose to slip into something more comfortable. Typically skirts were raised 4-7in above that crucial dividing line, but in Swinging London, the epicenter of the miniskirt explosion, they were to go a lot shorter than that…

The miniskirt is a skirt whose hemline is way above the knees (generally 200–300 mm above knee-level). Its existence is generally credited to the fashion designer Mary Quant, who was inspired by the Mini Cooper automobile, although André Courrèges is also often cited as its inventor, and there is disagreement as to who got there first.

A little trivia for every one – In the United Kingdom, the increasing interest in the miniskirt in the 1960s necessitated a change in the way skirts were taxed. Previously, skirts were taxed by length, with the miniskirt qualifying as tax-exempt by effectively being a child’s length.

The miniskirt was followed up in the mid-1960s by the even shorter micro skirt, which covers not much more than the intimate parts with the underpants. It has often been derogatorily referred to as a belt. Subsequently, the fashion industry largely returned to longer skirts such as the midi and the maxi. However, miniskirts remain popular.

Around the turn of the 21st century the micro has been reworked as an even less substantial “beltskirt” which more evokes the idea of a skirt than it covers anything much except perhaps also providing rhythm for the hip line and due to its revealing nature the “beltskirt” is rarely worn in public. Miniskirts are also seen worn over trousers or jeans, or with strap-on trouser “leggings” that provide coverage of each leg from above the knee.
